Summary :2018 is the 5th anniversary of the “Belt and Road Initiative”.

2018 is the 5th anniversary of the “Belt and Road Initiative”. After the “Belt and Road initiative” was put forward, the international education collaboration has been strengthened. As the data shows, by the end of 2016, China had signed mutual recognition agreements for academic degrees with 47 nations and regions. And the data from 2017 displayed that the re are 317,200 international students from “Belt and Road” countries, accounting for 64.85% of the total number, year-on-year growth of 11.58%, higher than the average growth rate of countries. Additionally, the Pakistan students occupied a large proportion of the total oversea students.

The increasing number of oversea students in China reflects the diversified choices of the younger generation. More and more foreign friends decide to study in China. The primary reasons of their choices are the following three aspects: more opportunities, better education quality, unique cultural heritage and profound accumulation.

We have collected some viewpoints of oversea students from various channels on the internet.

'I come to China for my doctorate degree, because China's high- tech is particularly developed, I can learn a lot of advanced knowledge here,' said Liu Pengfei, a Pakistan student studies in Northwest A&F University.

'At the time, India did not record history like China. Therefore, India study history and archaeology mainly according to this book (Buddhist Records of the Western World). I hope to promote more exchanges between the two ancient civilizations,' said Guan Xiujie, a India student studies in Northwest University.

'I am very happy to study in China. My brother is studying at China Pharmaceutical University, and my sister is studying at Shaanxi Normal University now. I encourage them to come. And China is a safe place.'
said Wei Ning, a Ph.D. of Animal Nutrition major in Northwest A&F University.

The “Belt and Road Initiative” is not only the construction of infrastructure, but also the collision of cultural and educational ideas. We hope all the oversea students can enjoy their life in China, and we also wish the “Belt and Road Initiative” development can get better and better.
